Follow this order to unlock selling, keep the Blood Grape quest moving and finish with a real save. The goal is not to clear the farm—it is to open the systems that make every later night easier.

Seven stops, one useful night
This is a route diagram, not a copy of the in-game map. The important direction is: leave the farm to the right/east, cross into town, find the central castle-like building and climb the twin staircases to Town Hall.
Before you move
Know these four controls and rules
Tool wheel: hold the right shoulder button on controller to choose the shovel, watering can, axe, pickaxe or broken wand.
The broken wand is intentional: magic is story-gated; you have not missed an item.
Water source: until you own a well, refill the can from the water to the left of the farmhouse.
No manual save: the night is recorded when you sleep. Do not close the game immediately after filling Chester.
Step-by-step
What to do, where to go and why
Exit the farmhouse and wake Orlock
He is passed out outside your home. Poking him or dumping water both advance the scene; poking only gives the friendlier dialogue. Take the Blood Grape Seeds and accept the wine request.
Do not sell the first quest harvest.
The wine request becomes your first crop-and-maker objective.
You leave with the opening seeds and a clear quest.
Enter the old building to the left of your home
Victor is inside the crypt-like structure on the west/left side of the farm. His scene explains the farm and your starting tool wheel.
Use the shovel—not a hoe—to make planting holes.
Notice any glowing swirl in the dirt; those are dig spots that can contain materials, blueprints or valuables.
You know how to work the farm and where to look for dig spots.
Plant the Blood Grapes in one compact patch
Dig only enough holes for the seeds, plant from the inventory, then water every tile. Keep the patch close to the house so the nightly chore takes seconds rather than a long walk.
Refill from the water left of the farmhouse if the can runs dry.
Water every night unless ordinary rain covers a normal crop.
The five-night growth clock starts without wasting energy.
Go straight to Town Hall before wandering
Leave the farm to the right/east and continue into town. Cross the bridge toward the central castle-like building, go upward and climb the two staircases. Enter Town Hall and register with Mayor Brook.
There is no always-on minimap, so use the full map from the menu if you lose the route.
Map exclamation marks and sparkling building icons signal cutscenes.
Brook assigns Chester, activating the normal overnight sale loop.
Forage on the return route—do not start a clearing marathon
Pick up flowers and beach shells when they are already on your route. Dig visible swirls. Use the remaining energy for introductions or a small amount of wood and stone, not for stripping the entire farm.
Forage costs less than heavy chopping and mining.
Wood and stone are needed by early machines and buildings.
You create sale stock without delaying upgrades.
Load Chester with safe items
Back on the farm, put spare flowers, shells and non-quest duplicates in Chester. Money arrives after the night ends.
Keep all Blood Grapes until Orlock's wine objective is complete.
Keep wood, stone, seeds, food and anything marked for a quest or museum.
Your first coins are queued without sacrificing progression.
Sleep—then wait for the next evening
Return to the coffin and end the night. The game saves at sleep, Chester resolves the sale and the next evening begins at 18:00.
If the current quest requires tomorrow, sleeping is progress.
Do not treat an early bedtime as failure; early progression is deliberately time-gated.
The route, sale and save are complete.
Inventory decision
Sell this, keep that
Sell tonight
Spare flowers, beach shells and obvious duplicate forage that is not tied to a quest, recipe or collection.
Keep
Wood, stone, all seeds, food, Blood Grapes, ore, blueprints and every active quest item.
Wait before selling
New or unusual items. Check the quest log, museum needs and crafting recipes first.
Avoid these
Four mistakes that make the opening feel worse
Clearing the whole farm
It burns energy before you unlock normal selling and does not speed the Blood Grape timer.
Selling wood and stone
The early keg, refiner, furnace, scarecrow and construction route need materials more than you need a tiny one-night payout.
Closing before sleep
There is no manual save. Sleeping is the checkpoint.
Trying to meet everyone first
Unlock Town Hall and Chester first; then use remaining time for introductions and map markers.
