Beginner walkthrough
Opening plan
Wake Orlock, meet Victor, plant Blood Grapes, register at Town Hall, receive Chester, sell safe forage and sleep. Use the exact illustrated route.
Water the grapes first. Follow exclamation marks and sparkling building icons on the map, talk to residents already on your route, dig glowing soil swirls and sell flowers or shells through Chester.
Blood Grapes take five watered nights and then regrow every four nights. Keep the first harvest for Orlock's wine route instead of selling it raw.
The keg handles wine and juice; the refiner makes planks, refined stone and fodder; the furnace makes charcoal, bars and glass. These unlock progression, so keep their raw materials.
Several early objectives require crop growth, mail or another night. A short night is efficient when you have watered, used Chester and checked active markers.
Every-night order
Story crops first; decorative expansion later.
Exclamation marks and sparkling buildings indicate scenes that can unblock tools, areas or relationships.
Choose one shop, quest location or resident cluster rather than zigzagging across the entire map.
Flowers, shells and visible dig spots are low-cost value when they are on your path.
Queue the sale, end the night and let mail, money, crops and events advance.
When stuck
| Problem | What to check | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| No way to sell | Town Hall registration | Speak with Brook and receive Chester. |
| Wand does nothing | Story progression | The broken wand is intentional; continue the family/event chain until Luna contacts you. |
| Nothing new happens | Map markers and mail | Enter marked areas, check sparkling buildings, then sleep for the next trigger. |
| Always out of energy | Field size and clearing | Shrink nightly chores; forage instead of mass-clearing; eat only when it changes the route. |
| Money feels slow | Chester every night | Sell safe forage, keep repeat crops active and protect wood/stone for processors. |
| Cannot place barn | Construction unlock and footprint | Advance Ridge's quest and clear a 10×6 area near home. |
Five real habits
Early processors and construction consume them faster than a small Chester sale is worth.
Forage collected while traveling is efficient; a special trip for one flower is not.
When crops, mail or tomorrow's scene are the blocker, sleeping is the correct action.
